SOIL, CULTURE & HARVEST
On the boundary of the village of Rodern, taking in some plots of that of Saint-Hippolyte and stretching to a small mount between them, this place-name faces South South-East, at an altitude of 250 to 360 m. The vineyard is cultivated based upon Alsatian tradition and “AOC Alsace” specifications are followed. Harvesting is done by hand – pressing is carefully undertaken with.
Fermentation temperature is controlled by cooling – Ageing 8 to 10 months in century old oak casks – Bottling after tangential filtration – Storage in bottles in our cellars at stable temperature.
WINE & FOOD
Wine to be enjoyed on its own or with foie gras, blue-moulded cheeses or Roquefort.
10 to 15 years – Serving temperature 8 to 10°C
Wines to be cellared, the Alsace Grand Cru Gloeckelberg surprise by virtue of their finesse, lightness and elegance. Their aromas are rich and their length in the mouth is quite great.
